The Story Squad are our eager readers who are determined to promote a love of reading for pleasure across the school. They are responsible for the upkeep of our lovely library area – which they helped to design, create and launch in 2023!
The Story Squad have regular meetings and decided to encourage children to read more by launching our Book Mark scheme. Children are awarded stickers for reading books from our library and those who earned 6 stickers in the first term were rewarded with a special story time treat! We had milkshake and cookies and enjoyed a lovely story time in the hall. Over half of the school managed to achieve the 6 stickers and joined in the celebration which was fantastic!
The local Mother’s Union group also visited school to share stories and see our new library area. We are so grateful to the ladies who also donated some lovely brand new books – we’ll love reading those.
