News: Sharing Progress with Parents Events

Annwyl Pawb,

Following the success of our trial sessions, we’d like to invite parents into school, in small groups to spend time with their child in class.  We’ll be offering 3 sessions – morning (9.15am to 10.15am); afternoon (2pm to 3pm) or evening (4.30pm to 5.30pm) During the session, you’ll have the opportunity to spend time with your child looking through his/her work; have a good look around the classroom and speak with your child’s class teacher about his/her work, progress and targets. There will also be the opportunity for you to undertake fun activities with your child in class.

The dates for these sessions are as follows:  Thursday 25th April 2024 – Dosbarth Ruby (Mrs Sear’s class), Dosbarth Alun (Mrs Wilmore’s class) a Dosbarth Dyfrdwy (Mrs Poole’s class)  Tuesday 30th April 2024 – Dosbarth Amethyst (Mrs Cartwright’s class) a Dosbarth Topaz (Miss Squire’s class) Tuesday 7th May 2024 – Dosbarth Emerald (Miss Cushing’s class), Dosbarth Celyn (Miss Neal’s class) a Dosbarth Eryri (Mrs Rogers’ class)  We’d love all parents to come along and would ask you to either fill out the google form below or contact school via telephone/email ([email protected]) with your preference for a session. Please note that if you opt for the evening session your child will need to attend with you.  https://forms.gle/LwAzEnCUPbEzMXpXA These sessions will replace the traditional ‘Parents Evenings‘ and we hope they will be far more informative and useful to you.

Our aim is to allow you to have more time with class teachers and gain a better understanding of our new ways of working; the progress your child is making along with ideas on how to support him/her at home. From our trials last term, we do appreciate that these meetings would not be the place to discuss sensitive matters.

Please rest assured that if teachers have anything confidential to discuss, parents will be contacted, and an additional meeting time agreed.  Don’t worry about other children in the class – we have plans in place for learning outside of the classroom sessions, for those who parents are attending other sessions, safeguarding is always our priority.

We have a slightly different session planned for children and parents in Diamond and Tryfan, information will be shared soon.

If you are unable to make the dates advertised, please contact class teachers who will be more than happy to arrange a mutually convenient time for you to meet and discuss your child’s progress.

I look forward to seeing everyone and hope you all enjoy this new approach to working with parents as we strive to ensure the children receive the best education possible, here at Park CP.
